Club Tour October 2025
From Mallorca to the Costa Del Sol ☀
October 2025 saw a different kind of Coaching Holiday.
4 clubs in Mallorca with 3 fantastic clients Chris, Rob and Sebastian then onto mainland Spain to visit the Costa Del Sol with friends and former tennis coaching colleagues to visit a couple more sites.
This trip was the first time we added some time on a Padel court and was very much centered around playing as much tennis and padel as we could at some fantastic locations.
Below are some of the highlights of where we visited.
Magaluf → Santa Ponsa
The first venue on our club tour was the Magaluf municipal tennis courts. Located on the edge of Magaluf and only a few minutes walk to Palma Nova it was a great starting point as the clay was in fantastic condition. Next up was our usual club in Santa Ponsa which is walking distance from the H10 hotel. We have stayed here for the last few years as it is perfectly located for the beach, restaurants and bars.
Paguera
Club number three Tennis Academy Mallorca in Paguera is a sprawling traditional complex of clay courts with beautiful grounds located approximately 15 minute walk from the beach.
Portals Tennis
Club four was the Sporting Club in Portals. Stunning sea views with the sound of the ocean behind you while you play was a unique experience. A much more modern club compared to the others we had visited so far.
Portals Padel
We finished the Mallorca section of the club tour with some Padel at the Sporting club, the guys all played well after a lot of tennis in several locations in a short period of time and definitely earned their beer!
Costa Del Sol - Mijas
The club tour continued with Head Coach Matt joined by friends (1 tennis coach, 1 former tennis coach and 1 stunt man!). The first stop was the beautiful surroundings of Lew Hoad Campo de Tenis which was a homecoming for Head Coach Matt and the others who had previously worked at the club back in 2004.
Costa Del Sol - Riviera
Another return venue in R11 where Head Coach Matt had previously taken groups from David Lloyd when it was known as the Aztec Tennis Centre.
